Several Software Innovation New Zealand members recently participated in the Australian Summer School in Software Engineering (OzSE 2026) held in Melbourne. The event brought together researchers and practitioners to discuss emerging topics in software engineering, including AI systems, testing, and software quality.
SINZ members contributed to the program with invited talks and presentations, sharing current research and insights with the broader software engineering community. This included Dr Valerio Terragni (University of Auckland) presenting on Metamorphic Testing for Large Language Models, Associate Professor Jens Dietrich (Victoria University of Wellington), and Associate Professor Sherlock A. Licorish (University of Otago) who also delivered a talk as part of the program. In addition, several students supervised SINZ members presented their work, showcasing emerging research from the New Zealand software engineering community.
