Software Innovation New Zealand (SI^NZ) held its first Annual General Meeting on 29th June 2017 at AUT, Auckland, NZ. The meeting was attended by members from around the country, representing Auckland University of Technology, Massey, University of Auckland, University of Canterbury, University of Otago, University of Waikato, and Victoria University of Wellington. It is hoped that representatives from Lincoln will join in future AGMs and other events.
One of the main areas of focus on the day was defining membership rules with a view to include as many software engineering researchers around NZ as possible.
Prof Gill Dobbie provided an overview of historical and recent MBIE funding results, sharing ideas on improving successful outcomes for software engineering based proposals.
The group also discussed the organization of EASE2018 to be held in Christchurch, New Zealand on 28-29 June 2018.
